All state run universities and high education institutes will re-open today (2012 September 6). These institutions were closed by a special gazette order made by Minister of Higher Education S.B.Dissanayaka on 2012 August 21. The Minister issued a Gazette notification rescinding the previous order made under the powers bestowed on him under the Universities Act.
