Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S III was launched in Sri Lanka yesterday (2012 June 20) at Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo. The event was attended by Managing Director , Samsung India Electronics Pvt. Ltd.
Speaking at the launch, Managing Director, Samsung India Electronics Pvt. Ltd, Sri Lanka Branch office – Mr. H.K. Chang said, “The Galaxy SIII is inspired by nature and human capabilities. It is effortlessly smart and intuitively simple by design. It is a fascinating example of how design and technology can be combined with intelligence and imagination to create innovative new products. The strong adoption of Smartphones by the Sri Lankan market has encouraged us to sustain the excitement in the marketplace by launching flagship, iconic devices like the Galaxy SII, Galaxy Note and today, the Samsung Galaxy SIII”
The phone’s most innovative feature is built-in face-tracking and voice control – allowing, Samsung claims, for a more ‘natural’ control system. Other innovations include what Samsung claims is a ‘more intelligent’ lock system, that keeps the screen ‘awake’ when the phone’s camera senses eyes watching it, rather than turning it off.
