President Went To Japan With Two Elephants


Gossip 9 Lanka News : Marking 60 years of diplomatic ties between Japan and Sri Lanka, President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday (2013-03-12) gifted a pair of baby elephants to the Tama Zoological Park in Tokyo. The elephant calves are named Amara (Age 08) and Vidura (Age 05). Princes Tsuguko of Takamado also accompanied the President and the First Lady – Shiranthi Rajapaksa, who were warmly welcomed by group of children who had gathered at the Zoo. The children had also sung songs both in Sinhala and Japanese. - mirror
